1. AWARD OF THE FEDERATION OF FILM CRITICS OF EUROPE AND THE MEDITERRANEAN - FEDEORA JURY

The jury: Duško Dimitrovski, journalist and film critic, James Evans, film critic and historian, Bruno Kragić, film historian, Sergey Lavrentiev, film critic, Dževdet Tuzlić, editor of the Cultural Programme of BHT Sarajevo.

Recognition for Best Croatian Feature Fiction Film is presented to the film Lada Kamenski, directed by Sara Hribar and Marko Šantić.

Recognition for Best Minority Co-Production is presented to the film The Frog, directed by Elmir Jukić.


2. AWARD OF THE CROATIAN FILM CRITIC’S ASSOCIATION

The OKTAVIJAN Award is presented to the film Mali, directed by Antonio Nuić, which received an average score of 3.63.


3. GOLDEN GATE OF PULA AUDIENCE AWARD

Voting for a film in the Croatian Programme screened in the Arena, the audience has awarded the Golden Gate of Pula Award to the film Comic Sans, directed by Nevio Marasović, which received an average score of 4.92.

4.1. CROATIAN PROGRAMME – CROATIAN MINORITY CO-PRODUCTION

1. Golden Arena for Best Film is awarded to the film The Frog, directed by Elmir Jukić – majority vote

Thanks to the excellent play and inspiring performance of the entire cast, we have been given an extraordinarily successful film account of post-war trauma experienced by the characters, who have thus become extremely close and recognisable to us.

2. Golden Arena for Best Director is awarded to Elmir Jukić for the film The Frog – majority vote

For his minimalistic approach to directing, which, with a small cast, scenes and locations, makes a powerful emotional impression on the audience.”

3. Golden Arena for Best Acting Performance is awarded to Maruša Majer for the role of Mara in the film Ivan, directed by Janez Burger – majority vote

Subject to physical pain, under even more pressure from emotional trauma, the protagonist of the film Ivan embodies the incredible strength of a mother’s instinct.

1. The Breza Award for best debutant is awarded to Sara Hribar for the film Lada Kamenski, directed by Sare Hribar and Marko Šantić - majority vote

For the thematic innovativeness in relation to this year’s competition, and for co-directing work on this small, but big film.

2. Golden Arena for Sound Design is awarded to Julij Zornik for the film Comic Sans, directed by Nevio Marasović – majority vote

For the multilayered use of music and its harmonious intertwining with the dialogue and atmosphere.

3. Golden Arena for Best Make-Up is awarded to Sanja Rivić for the film Exorcism, directed by Dalibor Matanić– majority vote

For her skilful use of make-up in the genre of horror film.”

4. Golden Arena for Best Visual Effects is awarded to Tomislav Vujnović, Antonio Patljak, Siniša Mataić and Sandrino Požežanac for the film The Eighth Commissioner, directed by Ivan Salaj - majority vote

For the effective, but unobtrusive playing with the audience’s experience of reality in the film.

5. Golden Arena for Best Special Effects is awarded to Nikola Koletić for the film Mali, directed by Antonio Nuić – majority vote

For the convincing account of the scenes with weapons.

6. Golden Arena for Best Costume Design is awarded to Morana Starčević for the film The Eighth Commissioner, directed by Ivan Salaj - majority vote

For successful costume design solutions in a film with a large number of characters of different age and social backgrounds.”

7. Golden Arena for Best Scenography is awarded to Ivana Škrabalo for the film The Eighth Commissioner, directed by Ivan Salaj - majority vote

For the varied buildings, exteriors and interiors, which create a specific film space with harmony and uniqueness.

8. Golden Arena for Best Music is awarded to Alen and Nenad Sinkauz for the film The Eighth Commissioner, directed by Ivan Salaj - majority vote

For their contribution to the specific atmosphere and the narrative structure of the film.”

9. Golden Globe for Editing is awarded to Tomislav Pavlic for the film Comic Sans, directed by Nevio Marasović - majority vote

For skilful editing of dialogue ,action, and music scenes.”

10. Golden Globe for Best Cinematography is awarded to Radislav Jovanov Gonzo, Luka Matić and Dubravka Kurobasa for the film Deep Cuts, directed by Dubravka Turić, Filip Mojzeš and Filip Peruzović – majority vote

For their collective work on the omnibus, where individual qualities of each of the cinematographers are highlighted in the successful designing of the whole of the film’s visual identity.

11. Golden Arena for Best Supporting Actor is awarded to Borko Perić, for the role of Tonino in the film The Eighth Commissioner, directed by Ivan Salaj - majority vote

For creating a memorable and striking role and playing it extremely bravely.”

12. Golden Arena for Best Actor is awarded to Janko Popović Volarić for the role of Alan in the film Comic Sans, directed by Nevio Marasović – majority vote

For embodying a complex character who equally shows vulnerability and egocentric motives at the same time.

13. Golden Arena for Best Supporting Actress is awarded to Nataša Janjić for the role of Marina in the film Comic Sans, directed by Nevio Marasović – majority vote

For her interpretation of a distanced, but sensible character.

Tara fashion joins in the Golden Arena for Best Supporting Actress, presenting the winner with a gift card for Tara fashion clothing.

14. Golden Arena for Best Actress is awarded to Doris Šarić-Kukuljica for the role of third actress in the film Lada Kamenski, directed by Sara Hribar and Marko Šantić - majority vote

Through playing with her own personality, the protagonist shows both her weaknesses in the role of an actress, and the characteristics of an uncompromising worker woman in a Pirandello-like way.

15. Golden Arena for Best Screenplay is awarded to Sara Hribar for the film Lada Kamenski, directed by Sara Hribar and Marko Šantić – majority vote

For her inventive interweaving of social and personal destinies of three women who the insecure director is trying to push as his film concept.”

16. Golden Arena for best Director is awarded to Nevio Marasović for the film Comic Sans - majority vote

For confident and skilful directing of a likeable story, as well as his precise selection of the cast and his work with the actors.

17. Grand Golden Arena for Best Festival Film is awarded to the film Mali, directed by Antonio Nuić, by the company Propeler film, produced by Boris T. Matić and i Lana Matić - majority vote

For a successful account of a relationship between father and son within the crime world. The authorial world of this film presents a parallel universe to that we live in.

ZAGREBAČKA BANKA presents Anotnio Nuić, director of the film Mali, which was awarded the Grand Golden Arena for Best Festival Film by the Jury of the 65th Pula Film Festival, with an award in the amount of 30,000 HRK.

TELEKING presents the producer of the film Mali with a package of postproduction services: image and sound processing and mastering in the amount of 15,000 EUR.
