The Young Cinephiles project has been bringing together young people without established reputations, future professionals in the audiovisual industry, and lovers of the seventh art for a number of years with the goal of enriching the experience of critical thinking about film. Other than watching films, they will have the opportunity to interact with film crews, meet authors and producers from all over Europe, write and publish film reviews, take part in panel discussions, and, of course, enjoy the 66th Pula Film Festival.
Potential cinephiles should have excellent command of Croatian and English, have an affinity for cinema, and they also need to submit a short motivational letter, and complete a qualifying assignment: submit a review of a Croatian feature film of their choice (produced in the last five years).
This year’s mentor is distinguished film critic Krunoslav Lučić, who will provide the young cinephiles with s systematic introduction into critical thinking about film, and follow and guide them in their conversations and discussions.
Pula Film Festival provides food and board for selected cinephiles, festival catalogues and materials, as well as accreditations for all festival screenings and side programmes.
Applications are closed and the names of selected applicants will be published on 21 June. For additional information, contact filmofili@pulafilmfestival.hr.
