Exceptional programmes for children and youth will once again thrill the youngest generations, and those working to become the audience at the Arena. The animated film workshop was fully booked in less than two weeks, and the digital workshop in only two days. Young cinephiles, of course, can also attend morning and evening screenings of the Festival, with free entry.

The Pulica Programme, which will run from 15 to 19 July at the Istrian National Theatre, will see daily screenings of a short and a feature film. The short film programme includes five animated films: Sheep (directed by j. Ocker), Mogu & Perol (directed by T. Goda), Charlie the Snowman’s Christmas Wedding (directed by P. Vodička), Bobo (directed by A. Rehak), and Robot and the Whale (directed by J. Forsman). The feature film programme provides enjoyment for the youngest with the films: Ploey: You Never Fly Alone (directed by Á. Ásgeirsson) - the story of a chick who can’t fly and misses the autumn migration of his family; Sune vs. Sune (directed by J. Holmberg) - a family comedy about a boy who meets a new boy on the first day of the school year, also called Sune; Lotte and the Lost Dragons (directed by H. Ernits and J. Põldma) - an adventure about a dog and her sister in search of dragons; Invisible Sue (directed by M. Dietrich) - a film about a 12-year-old girl who becomes invisible following an accident at the lab; and Lu Over the Wall (directed by M. Yuasa) - an animated comedy about a shy high school boy who meets an unusual mermaid.

The exquisite venue by the sea - Ambrela Beach - will this year once again offer deckchairs and films to the youth with the sections Dizalica and Cinema By the Sea. From 14 to 16. July, Dizalica will present three Croatian premieres of short films: One Small Step (directed by A.  Chesworth and B. Pontillas), Lost & Found (directed by A. Goldsmith and B. Slabe), and Skin (directed by G. Nattiv), while the feature film section also presents three premieres: Giant Little Ones (directed by K. Behrman), about the trials of friendship, I Hope You’ll Die Next Time :) (directed by M. Schwechtje), about a student who falls in love with her teacher; and Young Love (directed by S. Vilhunen), about high school students who face an unplanned pregnancy.
