The 66th Pula Film Festival and the Academy of Dramatic Art of the University in Zagreb, in cooperation with the Academy of Performing Arts in Sarajevo and the Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Belgrade, have organised a workshop on developing projects for TV series, which will be held during this year’s Pula Film Festival.

The workshop will focus on preparing the projects for presentations and pitches to potential partners and investors.

Four student projects from the region will be part of the workshop, with the workshop programme designed and delivered by teachers from the co-organising academies and prominent professionals.

The workshop programme aims to teach the participants how to present their project and prepare it for the market. The participants will learn how to present their project, how to plan the time needed to develop and produce the project, as well as how to plan the funds needed for development and production. They will practice the optimal way to manage all the steps, become more aware of the importance of selecting collaborators, become familiar with the possibilities of participating in workshops and fairs, and gain knowledge on how to pitch their project to potential partners, buyers or sales agents.

“We think that development of young generations of professionals in the audiovisual sector is one of the important missions of Pula Film Festival. The selection of this year’s topic and the programme of Pula Academy aim to provide the participants with a broad range of knowledge and skills they will need in their professional life,” said Zlatko Vidačković, artistic director of the 66th Pula Film Festival.

Mario Gigović, Pula Academy project leader, emphasised that “[…] the educational and networking programmes of Pula Film Festival are extremely important for the students, especially because this year, the same as before, those who have been selected to participate can look forward to intensive work with excellent mentors and lecturers!”

The workshop will see participation from the following projects: UNCLE, presented by Matej Sudarić from the Academy of Dramatic Art in Zagreb; the sitcom MENJAVČEVIĆS, presented by Anđela Lazić and Lana Radošević from the Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Belgrade; the drama series THE MOUNTAIN, presented by Selma Seljubac from the Academy of Performing Arts in Sarajevo; and HOME, presented by Darija Keršić from the Academy of Dramatic Art in Zagreb.

Ankica Jurić Tilić, assistant professor; Amra Bakšić Čamo, associate professor; Zorana Popović, MA; and Ivan Miladinov and Ana Šimičić-Nižetić will be working with the students in the workshop.

The workshop will be held in Pula, during the 66th Pula Film Festival, from 17 to 20 July 2019.
