It has by now become a tradition to have a number of exhibitions about film, filmmakers and the Festival open in the galleries of the City of Pula a few days before the official start of Pula Film Festival and the first screening at the Arena. The first of the exhibitions is at Valli Cinema, and it is the exhibition of the works by students of the first grade of the School of Applied Arts and Design in Pula. The students are mentored by professor Denis Sardoz, who has given them a design challenge to reinterpret the visual identity of the 66th Pula Film Festival (developed by Marko Rašić). Furthermore, also in the design domain, on 11 July at 7 p.m. at the HUiU Gallery (Gallery of the Croatian Association of Interdisciplinary Artists), and it is the exhibition titled Concept By: Mihajlo Arsovski, which presents the body of work by prominent graphic designer. An hour later, the SKUC Gallery will be the host of another exhibition dedicated to an actress who has marked an entire film period, and this time it is a guest multimedia exhibition Sonja Savić: A City Girl. On the other hand, on the same night, at 9 p.m., the exhibition Extras will open at the Makina Gallery, in which Jasenko Rasol shows the people in the background of film shots. The MEMO Museum has added an additional section to its collection, showing life in Pula from the 1950 to the 1980, with elements showing the details of the Film Festival in Pula. At MMC LUKA, as has become tradition, on the second day of Pula Film Festival, the exhibition Cinemaniac > Think Film 2019 will open. The 18th edition of this exhibition is structured in two parts, that is, two exhibitions, and a screening and talks programme. The Museum of Contemporary Art of Istria will open its doors on 15 July to works by an artist exhibiting at MMC Luka, Goran Trbuljak, with the exhibition Goran Trbuljak: Painting (45 Years of Not Painting), accompanied by screenings of the author’s films.

Pula Film Festival’s side programme also has a music section, which will start at 11.30 p.m. on the same night at Circolo. The citizens of Pula and their guests will enjoy performances by Music After Dinner, DJ Šurki, Super Funk Session, Techno Vikings, DJ Kool S, Dogma, DJ Kovač, and DJ Marc JB, who will once again make the popular dance space the perfect venue to round off the festival day.

On Saturday 6 July the Info Point at Giardini will open, where visitors will be able to purchase tickets and passes for the Arena, as well as Pula Film Festival souvenirs, daily from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Ticket prices for individual evenings at the Arena are 25.00 HRK, and sets of tickets for all evenings at the Arena are 165.00 HRK. Students can purchase passes for 50.00 HRK with a valid Indeks, and pensioners can purchase tickets for 30.00 HRK with proof of pension. Families with four or more children can also purchase tickets at an affordable rate and can purchase sets of tickets for all evenings at the price of 50.00 HRK (per person) and 10.00 HRK per evening (per person). The parent or guardian needs to present a document confirming the family status, which is issued by the State Administration Office of Istria County.
