Awards of the 66th Pula Film Festival Presented at the Crowded Arena
The awards of the 66th Pula Film Festival were presented yesterday evening at the crowded Arena. Director Predrag Ličina was presented with the Breza Award for Best Debutant for the film The Last Serb in Croatia, while the Golden Arena for Best Director was presented to the director of the film The Diary of Diana B Dana Budisavljević. The Golden Arena for Best Actress was presented to Hristina Popović for the film The Last Serb in Croatia, while Olga Pakalović, the winner of the Golden Arena for Best Supporting Actress was unable to attend the award ceremony due to filming at Lake Ohrid. Actor Krešimir Mikić, who couldn't attend the ceremony because he participates in the Dubrovnik Summer Festival, is the winner of the Golden Arena for Best Actor for the film What a Country!, while the Golden Arena for Best Supporting Actor was presented to Borko Perić for the film General. Dario Domitrović was presented with the Golden Arena for Best Sound Design for the film F20. Svetlana Gutić was presented with the Golden Arena for Best Make-Up for the film The Last Serb in Croatia, an award which she shares with Miroslav Lakobrija. Jana Piacun is the winner of the Golden Arena for Best Production Design, while Selena Orb is the winner of the Golden Arena for Best Costume Design. Krsto Jaram, Michal Struss, Antonio Ilic, Goran Stojnić, MagicLab, and Hommage won the Golden Arena for Best Visual Effects for the film My Grandpa Is an Alien, and the award was presented to Krsto Jaram. Zvonimir Krivec is the winner of the Golden Arena for Best Special Effects for the film General.
Nenad Sinkauz was presented with the Golden Arena for Best Music for the film The Diary of Diana B, which he won together with Alen Sinkauz. The winner of the Golden Arena for Best Editing is Marko Ferković. The Golden Arena for Best Cinematography was presented to Sven Pepeonik for the film My Grandpa Is an Alien, while Mate Matišić, the winner of the Golden Arena for Best Screenplay for the film What a Country! was unable to attend the award ceremony due to a concert. Miljenka Čogelja, one of the producers of the film The Diary of Diana B, was presented with the Grand Golden Arena for Best Festival Film. The film The Diary of Diana B is also the winner of the Golden Gate of Pula Audience Award and the FEDEORA diploma for best Croatian feature film, while the FEDEORA diploma for best minority co-production was presented to Miroslav Terzić, the awarded director of the film Stitches.
In the category of minority co-production, the Jury of the Croatian Programme presented the Golden Arena for Best Film to the film Rafaël, directed by Ben Sombogaart; awarded the Golden Arena for Best Director to Teona Strugar Mitevska, director of the film God Exists, Her Name Is Petrunya, and presented the award to producer Labina Mitevska; and awarded the Golden Arena for Best Acting Performance to Judita Franković Brdar for the role of Ana in the film Erased.
