Sabina from Turanj, Zorka from Sydney, and Mira from Nijemci explain it was the urge to defend their homes that brought them to the frontline. Sabina and Mira worked in a field hospital, but due to a shortage of personnel, they did everything the other fighters did. Zorka came from Sydney as a professional hairdresser, so she also cut hair alongside working in the field hospital of the military brigade The Tigers. Mira was captured in Vukovar on 19th November 1991.

Irena Ščurić (1960) graduated from the then Academy for Theatre, Film and Television in Zagreb (now Academy of Dramatic Art). Since 1984, she has been active in screenwriting, directing, cinematography, editing, and producing industrial, commercial, music videos, series, documentary films, and artistic videos. Among her independent projects as producers, the following stand out: the documentary Love Parade (Berlin, 2000) and Under Pressure (2011). She has been an associate of the Ethnographic Museum in Zagreb for a number of years, and has also worked for foreign TV stations from Italy, Germany and France.
