The Governing Council of the Public Institution Pula Film Festival unanimously decided to present this year’s Marijan Rotar Award posthumously to designer Predrag Spasojević, who has created some of the visual solutions for Pula Film Festival.
Predrag Spasojević designed his first poster for the Festival, The Candy Arena, in 1984, and continued to design the visual identity of the Festival to 1991. In 2007 he again designed the poster for the 54th edition of the Festival. He received awards for his graphic solutions, primarily posters, in Pula, Pazin, Poreč, Zagreb, Ljubljana, Portorož, and Belgrade. In 1987, he was awarded the Key Art Award by the prestigious American weekly, Hollywood Reporter, for his poster of the 33rd Festival in Pula. He also received prize for his poster for the 21st edition of the Interclub Amateur and Artist Film Festival (MAFAF). “The Governing Council considers that Predrag Spasojević brought together Pula and film in the best way with his work, contributed to the development and visibility of the Festival and the recognisability of Pula as a city of film,” states the Governing Council. The Marijan Rotar Award was established in 2004 by the Public Institution Pula Film Festival to honour Marijan Rotar (1927-2003), founder and initiator of Pula Film Festival.
