Synopsis

27 February, 1993, Strpci, Bosnia and Herzegovina. A passenger train from Belgrade to Bar is stopped by paramilitary forces in an ethnic cleansing operation. As they haul off innocent civilians, only one man out of 500 passengers dares to stand up to them. This is the true story of a man who could not remain silent.

About the director

Nebojša Slijepčević

(Zagreb, 1973) is a Croatian film director and the first ever Croatian winner of the Golden Palm. He graduated in film directing from the Academy of Dramatic Art in Zagreb, and started his career as one of the authors of the acclaimed TV series Direkt. He directed two successful feature-length documentary films (Gangster of love and Srbenka), and a number of short documentary and fiction films screened at the most important world  documentary film festivals that have won more than 40 awards. He received four awards at Sarajevo Film Festival, two awards at ZagrebDox, the Doc Alliance Selection Award, among others, and his film Srbenka was shortlisted for the European Film Award. Srbenka also received the annual national Vladimir Nazor Award for Best Film. His TV films earned him three nominations for Prix Europa. He is a lecturer and mentor at the School of Documentary film – Restart.
