Synopsis

During a winter weekend, sisters Anica and Irena, accompanied by Irena’s two children, travel to an island to visit their father and brother Ivan, a quiet loner. The reason for the gathering is their father’s decision to sell the family land. Confined in a worn-down family house, the family is forced to confront long-suppressed tensions and difficult choices, while one of them will have to make the ultimate sacrifice.

About the director

Zvonimir Jurić (Osijek, 1971) graduated in Film and Television Directing from the Academy of Dramatic Art University of Zagreb in 1999. He has directed several award-winning documentaries and short fiction films, as well as four feature films based on his own screenplays, including The Blacks, co-directed with Goran Dević. His short film Yellow Moon premiered in the official competition of the Berlin International Film Festival, while his feature film The Reaper premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival.
