Synopsis

In a small village in the remote Prekmurje region, an imaginative but tone-deaf 10-year-old girl becomes convinced she can save her grandmother from death by joining the school choir.

About the director

Ester Ivakič (Nova Gorica, 1992) is a Slovenian film director, screenwriter, and editor. She graduated in Digital Arts and Practices from the Academy of Arts in Nova Gorica in 2016 and later studied film directing at the Academy of Theatre, Radio, Film and Television (AGRFT) in Ljubljana. She received a Special Jury Mention at the Festival of Slovenian Film for Srdohrd (2016). Her short film Magical Castle Is Here Now (2021) won Best Slovenian Film at the FeKK Festival. She has written, directed, and edited several short films and music videos, while also developing her debut feature through various international workshops.
