Synopsis

In early 1991, while military barracks across Croatia remain under the control of the Yugoslav People’s Army (JNA), which refuses to recognize Croatian sovereignty, Blaž Gajski arrives on a small Adriatic island determined to get his son out of the local JNA barracks. Tensions on the island are running high. The local authorities have surrounded the military compound, while residents gather outside, staging performances of songs and recitations in an effort to persuade the barracks commander, Major Aleksa, to surrender along with his soldiers.
