Synopsis

In the second half of the 1930s in Zagreb, young Ana Šafranek is unhappy in her marriage to her much older husband, Franjo. During an outing to Samobor, she meets the charming Fulir, who begins to court her and soon visits her in her apartment. At the same time, Ana’s sister Mina also falls in love with him, while Franjo tries to resolve the situation by pairing Fulir with Mina instead. All these romantic and family entanglements are observed by little Perica, the Šafranek family’s son.

His greatest success came with One Song a Day Takes Mischief Away (1970), one of the most important works in Croatian cinema, and the popular television series Gruntovčani (1975).
