About the director
Paolo Genovese (Rome, 1966) is an Italian director and screenwriter. After graduating in Economics and Business, he began to work in advertising directing more than 300 commercials In 2001, together with Luca Miniero he wrote and directed the movie Neapolitan Spell (2002) which was awarded a David di Donatello and two Golden Globes. In 2013 he wrote and directed All Freud’s Fault (2013), which was highly successful and acclaimed by the critics. In 2016 he directed the worldwide success Perfect Strangers, which holds the Guinness World Record for most remade movie ever, having since been adapted in more than 20 countries around the world. Among his recent films are The Place (2017), Superheroes (2020) and The First Day of My Life (2023).
