Synopsis

Our heroine Paulina is now eleven years old. In fifth grade, she faces a strict geography teacher, her first school bully, and the difficult news of her beloved grandmother’s illness. With her charm and vivid imagination, Paulina learns an important lesson — that life is not just about winning.

About the director

Neven Hitrec (Zagreb, 1967) graduated in film and TV directing from the Academy of Dramatic Art in Zagreb. His feature and short documentary films have won numerous awards, including: The Hall (1993) and 730 Days Later (1993). His feature debut Madonna (1999) won the Grand Prix and four Golden Arena awards at Pula Film Festival, and the Breza Award for best debutant. His second feature film, Sleep Sweet, My Darling, won five Golden Arena awards and the Golden Gate of Pula – Audience Award at the 2005 Pula Film Festival. In 2009, he directed the feature film The Man Under the Table, followed by the documentary Foreclosure in 2013, which won an award at the Liburnia Film Festival, and the documentary Red Lorry Yellow Lorry in 2015. His feature-length documentary Push – Pull, which premiered in 2020, received the award for Best Film at a film festival in Paris.
