Synopsis

After ten years in Zagreb, writer Maksim Grahovac returns to his hometown in Montenegro to settle an inheritance and see his estranged brother Niko. On the way, he accidentally kills a man and, in panic, hides the body, before turning to Niko for help. His return causes excitement in the village, where he is celebrated as a famous writer, even attracting the Minister of Culture. Niko agrees to help in exchange for a share of the inheritance.

About the director

Bojan Stijović (Berane, 1983) graduated from the Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Cetinje, majoring in Film and Television Directing. He has participated in numerous workshops, panels, and festivals where his short films have been awarded. In addition to his work as a director, he has also worked as a First Assistant Director on several short films, TV series, and the feature film Sirin. He is a member of the European Film Academy. Crna truba (2026) marks his feature-length debut.
