Synopsis

Four university students and friends, Lovro, Nenad, Stevan and Ivan join the partisans to fight against the Ustashas and the Nazis. Sixteen years later, they are renowned filmmakers. But in Communist Yugoslavia, four artists are suspected of homosexuality, and a communist party loyalist Emir is sent to sabotage their careers and lives.

About the director

Ivona Juka (Zagreb, 1975) is a Croatian and Montenegrin film director, actress and screenwriter. She graduated in acting, film and TV directing from the Academy of Dramatic Art, University of Zagreb. She is the author of the award-winning films Facing the Day (2006), You Carry Me (2015) and Beautiful Evening, Beautiful Day (2024). Her feature film You Carry Me premiered at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, was Croatia’s submission for the Academy Awards, and became the first regional film acquired by Netflix. She is a member of the European Film Academy, and her films have been screened and awarded at numerous international festivals.
