Synopsis
Young doctor Jure returns to his birthplace on the edge of a vast swampland. He is met with deep distrust, as the ailing villagers prefer the counsel of a local witch doctor over modern medicine. To make matters worse, Jure’s young wife detests life in the village. Faced with mounting hardships, Jure must make a choice: listen to his wife and return to Zagreb, or stay and fight the deep-rooted backwardness of his homeland alongside an aging country doctor and his spirited young daughter.
