About the director
Živko Nikolić (1941–2001) was a Yugoslav and Montenegrin film director, television director and screenwriter. He graduated from the Academy of Theatre, Film, Radio and Television in Belgrade and developed a distinctive cinematic style shaped by the landscapes of the Montenegrin karst, rural life and a sharp critique of patriarchal society. Blending grotesque imagery, dark humour and allegory, his films are regarded as some of the most important works of Yugoslav cinema. He gained international recognition with Unseen Wonder, while The Beauty of Vice, The Death of Mister Goluza and the television series Đekna još nije umrla, a ka’ će ne znamo have achieved cult status across the region.
