Synopsis
Young Nico leaves the big city for a short while, along with the comforts afforded to him by technology, and goes to Sicily for the summer, to stay at his aunt’s house: a devout woman who lives in an old house and spends her days with friends her own age, immersed in a seemingly uneventful yet tender everyday routine.

About the director
Margherita Spampinato (Palermo, 1979) worked as editing secretary on over 30 films, including Sergio Castellitto’s Venuto al mondo and Pupi Avati’s Gli amici del bar Margherita. She also spent five years working in casting for films and series such as Petra and Suburra: The Series. As a director, she made two short films, Tommasina and Segreti. Gioia mia (2025) is her feature debut.
